About Dove Harper

Why This Site Exists

I built this site to publish on my own terms. No publisher gatekeeping. No subscription ladder. No begging anyone to unlock the next chapter. Just self-made books, EPUB for Kindle and other e-readers, plus PDF, priced low and fair, sold direct.

Dove Harper is a gender-neutral pen name. The point is separation — room for you to meet the writing before assumptions about my gender arrive and start doing work they were never invited to do. That is not deception; a pen name exists partly for that distance. I served in the U.S. Navy in Asia, Europe, and the United States between 2015 and 2024. I live in Portugal now.

The Writing

I write explicit romance and erotica with a human pulse: messy, funny, sharp, and rarely polite. M/F and F/F. Ordinary rooms. Complicated people. Sex that shows who someone is under pressure.

Real People, Real Skin

That same refusal runs through the work itself. I am not interested in the default fantasy body, hairless, frictionless, always white, always gym-perfect, hung like a billboard, stacked like a billboard. My stories favor real skin and real proportion: soft bellies, stretch marks, stubble, sweat, awkward timing, desire that shows up after a long shift or a bad joke. Characters of different races, ages, and shapes get to be hungry without becoming props.

The Work

Some pieces stand alone. Others return to Sterling, a fictional city that keeps collecting people who want more than they admit. All of it is written, designed, and released here first, independent on purpose.
